PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner in which a front face side air suction portion is opened and closed by a front face plate so as to be appropriate for the air conditioner emphasizing simple front face design and a color, an upper side air suction portion has a preferable suction state in heat exchange in a heat exchanger and prevents the intrusion of dust, a drive mechanism for opening and closing operations of the front side and the upper side air suction portions is appropriate for being simply and compactly designed, and the drive mechanism is appropriate for assembling in a narrow region. SOLUTION: In the air conditioner having air suction portions on the front side and the upper side formed and an air blowout port formed on a lower face side, the front side air suction portion is opened and closed by the front side plate, the upper side air suction portion is opened and closed by a shutter type opening/closing plate 60, the opening/closing operations are performed by an electrically-driven mechanism composed of a single motor and a gear, a front side panel 7 is opened and closed by the reciprocating rotation of a first drive member of the electrically-driven mechanism, and the shutter type opening/closing plate 60 is opened and closed by the reciprocating rotation of a second drive member of the electrically-drive mechanism.
