PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal fitting aiming at reduction of a height of a square cylinder part. SOLUTION: The square cylinder part 10 is formed by raising a pair of side plates 12L, 12R on left and right end parts of a bottom plate 11, and by making an extended end part of an upper plate 13, extended from upper end part of the left side plate 12L in parallel with the bottom plate 11, contact with an upper end face of the right side plate 12R. Floating of the upper plate 13 is regulated by forming a beat-out part 18R protruding downward in stepped-shape on the upper plate 13, and by making a pressing part 14 extended from upper end part of the right side plate 12R contact an upper face of the beat-out part 18R. Since the beat-out part 18R, on which the pressing part is superposed, has a shape of protruding downward in stepped form, namely, an upper face is recessed, the height of the square cylinder part 10 can be reduced to the extent of recessed length.
