SOLUTION: This titania-based material contains at least La, Ti and O, and comprises a wiry crystal. This method for producing the titania-based material comprises a dissolving step of dissolving an La compound and a Ti compound in water to obtain a solution, and a coprecipitation step of precipitating the titania-based material comprising a wiry crystal containing at least La, Ti, P and O.
