A plasma display device is provided with a plasma display panel (11) wherein a front substrate having a plurality of display electrodes and a rear substrate having data electrodes intersecting with the display electrodes are arranged to face each other so as to form a discharge space between the substrates; and a chassis member (20), which holds the plasma display panel (11) on the front plane side and has a drive circuit block arranged on the rear plane side for driving the plasma display panel (11). The chassis member (20) is composed of a base plate (36) composed of base metal plates (36a, 36b, 36c) which have the plasma display panel (11) attached thereon and are divided into a plurality of plates, and metal plates (37, 38) which connect the base metal plates (36a, 36b, 36c).
