PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact antenna system installable to a mobile terminal unit or the like and the resonance frequency of which can be adjusted. SOLUTION: The antenna system is provided, which is characterized in including: an antenna section comprising a first element partially including a prescribed bent or curved pattern whose one end is an antenna first terminal and a second element conductively connected to the other end of the first element, the one end of which is an antenna second terminal, and whose length is shorter than the length of the first element; a feeding part for exciting the antenna section via the antenna first terminal and the antenna second terminal; and a switching circuit that is connected between the antenna section and the feeding part, selectively switches either or both of the first and the second elements of the antenna section to connect the selected element or elements to the feeding part, and characterized in that the resonance frequency of the antenna section is changed at feeding by the feeding part in response to the switching operation by the switching circuit.
