PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grasp the state of survey at a remote location. SOLUTION: A survey machine stores a ranging number and a program start number by ranging of a ranging sensor 14 to a nonvolatile memory 24, stores a license period and the maintenance period of the survey machine to the nonvolatile memory 24, displays their information on the screen of a display 30, and grasps and manages the state and the history of the survey machine at remote locations, by transmitting them to the Internet via an I/F circuit 28, a mobile phone or a wireless LAN.
