The domestic dishwasher has a fast setting which allows intensive, delicate, automatic and normal washing cycles to be carried out in a shorter time while using approximately the same amounts of energy. This is achieved e.g. by increasing the force with which the rinsing water is sprayed on to the dishes. An independent claim is included for dishwashers fitted with a control for the fast setting.
