PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound insulating structure having a large noise reducing effect without being enlarged, and having a simple structure and excellent maintainability using a lightweight material for forming the sound insulating structure. SOLUTION: The sound insulating structure installed as a wall surface of a railway viaduct or the like has an inside wall surface inclined so that an angle defined by straight lines L, M is not larger than 1/2 of an angle defined by straight lines L, N, wherein the straight line L connects an optional point O on an inside contour line of a cross section orthogonal to the connecting direction of the sound insulating structure, to a noise making position L closest to the point O, the straight line M is a normal line at the point O, and the straight line N is a horizontal line at the point O.
