The roof structure has a breathable unit (3) e.g. foil, mounted in sections at a distance from a roof unit (2) in such a manner that a gap (4) is formed, where the breathable unit is permeable to water vapor and waterproof. The gap is ventilated only by the breathable unit, which is provided with a liquid absorbing layer. The liquid absorbing layer is attached on a side of the breathable unit, which is turned away from the roof unit. The distance between the breathable unit and the roof unit lies between 5 and 15 centimeter.
