Production of a thermally hardenable adhesive (especially a bifunctional system) comprises thermal solution polymerization of a monomer mixture in presence of an initiator, followed by addition of a catalyst/hardener system, the monomer mixture comprising by weight (A) ethylhexyl acrylate (10-50%); (B) hydroxyethyl acrylate (1-10%); (C) isobornyl acrylate (10-30%); (D) glycidyl methacrylate (5-30%); and (E) hexyl acrylate (10-20%).
