INTERNET PROTOCOL PRIVATE EXCHANGE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LINKING VOICE OVER INTERNET PROTOCOL TERMINAL THEREOF

An IP(Internet Protocol) private switching system and a VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) terminal interworking method of the system are provided to allow a user not to input a designated prefix besides the phone number of an external SIP terminal in order to perform call communication with the external SIP terminal. A legacy call database(212) includes at least one phone number information that can be registered as an extension of an IP private switching system. An SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) call database(226) stores information about a terminal registered as an extension of the IP private switching system. A registration control module(222) checks whether the phone number of a VoIP terminal included in an extension registration message provided from the VoIP terminal is an extension phone number. If the phone number of the VoIP terminal is an extension phone number, the registration control module(222) stores extension registration request information included in the extension registration message and phone number information corresponding to the phone number of the VoIP terminal of the legacy call database(212) in the SIP call database(226).
