PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method for increasing the functions of a titanium oxide-based catalyst as a decolorizer and a deodorant in a dark place. SOLUTION: Deposits of volcanic ash and sand are mixed with graphite silica to form a ball-shaped mixture. A mixture of deposits of volcanic ash and sand, graphite silica powder and titanium oxide powder is made to adhere to the surface of the ball-shaped mixture, and the mixture is subjected to reductive burning to form a ceramic ball as a carrier, and then the ceramic ball is burned after a titanium oxide solution is applied to its surface.
