PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the scanning width of a carriage at the time of cutting an identical shape, and thereby, to make the whole recording/cutting device undersize by arranging a cutter within the width range in the direction of scanning of a plurality of nozzles. SOLUTION: This recording/cutting device records data in a medium and cuts the medium, and is equipped with a conveyance part to convey the medium in the conveying direction and the carriage which scans over the medium in the scanning direction orthogonal with the conveying direction. The carriage has a jet head which discharges ink to the medium and records data there and a cutter which cuts the medium.
