摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure high performance and high reliability, and to enhance operability by reducing the effects due to transient response of an optical amplifier at optical signal switching and changes in the optical level of a wavelength multiplex optical signal in an optical network system having an optical signal switching apparatus and the optical amplifier. <P>SOLUTION: The optical signal switching apparatus transmits information of an optical signal switching characteristics, including the switching speed at switching of the optical signal by the optical signal switching apparatus and the oscillatory frequency of the optical output level to the optical amplifiers connected to the output side of the optical signal switching apparatus, the optical amplifiers receiving the information of the optical signal switching characteristic controls the transient response characteristics of the optical amplifiers, in response to switching speed information of the optical signal switching characteristics or controls the frequency response characteristics of an optical amplification control circuit, in response to the oscillatory frequency information of the optical signal switching characteristic so as to suppress the transient response. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
