PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To machine a work plate without shifting the position thereof by pressing the work plate with a roller mounted on a driving shaft of a cylinder in machining the work plate by a tool of a spindle head lowered between the rollers. SOLUTION: This machining apparatus includes: a base 1; a strut 2; a horizontal support member 3; a horizontal moving member 5, a longitudinal moving member 9, a spindle head 11, a base bed 14, and a table 17. In this case, the work plate 19 is placed on the table 17, and two or more pairs of cylinders 20a, 20b, 20c, 20d are mounted on the opposite sides of the base bed 14 of the strut 2, and the rollers 21a, 21b, 21c, 21d are mounted on the driving shafts of the cylinders 20a to 20d.
