PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device provided with a signal communication capable of adding an additional function to a camera while maintaining portability of the camera, and to provide a camera unit.

SOLUTION: In the optical device, the camera unit having an imaging lens having a flexure for substantially perpendicularly bending an optical path from a subject and an imaging device is detachably attached on a body unit, and a camera signal communication for performing signal communication with the body unit is provided on a portion opposite to the flexure where a subject image is formed.
