PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push button switch with long life, free from fluctuation of operation property. SOLUTION: On the push button switch, an operation member 30 is inserted into a housing composed of a base 10 formed by arranging fixed contacts 12a, 13a, 13b on a bottom face and a cover 40 mounted on the base 10, in a direction of axial center in free sliding movent; and a circuit is switched by making a movable contact 20 housed in the housing contact with and separate from a fixed contact 12a by pressing the fixed contact 20, by making a top end part 35 of an operation piece 34 of the operation member 30 slide along a guide part 44 cut-and-bent obliquely downward from a top face of the cover 40. The guide part 44 capable of sliding on the top end part 35 of the operation piece 34 of the operation member 30 is formed at end part of a through hole 43 formed on the top face of the cover 40, and a reinforcing part 45 continued to the top face of the cover 40 is formed at both end sides of the guide part 44.
