The method involves registering a part of a window that provides a representation of a screen display of a host computer (190). A user input is received to provide a selection of data that is stored by a viewer computer (110) e.g. personal computer, over an input device that is electrically communicated with the viewer computer. The user input is received over the input device, which indicates that the selected data is stored in the part of window that provides the representation of the screen display. The selected data is transferred from the viewer computer to the host computer. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer-readable medium comprising instructions to perform a method for transferring data from a viewer computer to a host computer (2) a system for transferring data from a viewer computer to a host computer using a drag and drop process.
