1,185,413. Snowfall meters. D. ROSSIER. April 3, 1968 [April 17, 1967], No. 16011/68. Heading G1X. A snowfall alarm comprises a base-plate 9 having two upstanding vertical supports, only one of which, 1, is shown, and between which is disposed a vertically adjustable horizontal table 8 on which snow may settle, the vertical supports carrying respectively a light source providing a horizontal beam of light and a photo-cell 4 to receive light from the source, the arrangement being such that when the snow has built up on the table 8 to a depth determined by the adjusted vertical position of the table so as to interrupt the light beam from the source to the photo-cell, an alarm such as a bell (not shown) will be actuated. |
