A mobile terminal service supply method is provided to enable a mobile terminal to temporarily supply a basic service to a user by using minimum SIM(Subscriber Identity Module) information stored in a virtual SIM task even though a service is limited owing to a communication error, thus urgent contact and calls are available. After a virtual SIM task is realized in a terminal, an initialization action is performed when an SIM card is mounted on the terminal so that the terminal reaches an idle state(S21). Information on the SIM card is automatically backed up to the virtual SIM task(S22). If the terminal is in a service limited state owing to a communication problem with the SIM card, communication with the virtual SIM task is automatically progressed to attempt network registration through data accessing with the virtual SIM task(S23-S29). A basic service usage request message is generated and sent to a network, and a basic service is provided to a user if a response message is received from the network(S30-S32).
