A liquid crystal display device is provided stably supply a common voltage to a first substrate and a second substrate and improve the picture quality, by separately supplying the common voltage to the first substrate and the second substrate. A first substrate(101) has first and second common voltage supply lines(118a,118b), pixel areas defined by a plurality of gate lines(GL1-GLn) and a plurality of data lines(DL1-DLm), and a plurality of common lines(VL1,VL2) in parallel with the gate lines. A second substrate(103) is opposite to the first substrate, having common electrodes. Dots(122a-122c) are formed to connect the first common voltage supply lines of the first substrate with the common electrodes of the second substrate. A common voltage generator(108) individually supplies a predetermined common voltage to the first and second common voltage supply lines.
