A multi-domain LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to effectively improve brightness and reduce color transfer within one pixel by forming an electrode as a combined multi-domain structure. A plurality of gate lines(101) are arranged on a first substrate in a first direction. A plurality of data lines(103) are arranged in a perpendicular direction to the gate line, and define a plurality of pixels each including a first region and a second region. Common electrodes(106a,106b) and pixel electrodes(107a,107b) generate an in-plane electric field in the first region, and serve to improve brightness. Common electrodes(116b,116b) and pixel electrodes(117a,117b) generate an in-plane electric field within the second region, and serve to reduce color transfer. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the first and second substrates.
