A color interpolation apparatus using grid noise removal is provided to remove a grid noise of an image without damaging the image by using a difference between average values of even lines and odd lines of the image and reduce the quantity of computations required to remove the grid noise. A color interpolation apparatus includes a correction efficient determination unit(410) and a color interpolator(420). The correction efficient determination unit generates a correction efficient for removing a grid noise of an inputted bayer pattern image. The color interpolator applies the correction coefficient to the bayer pattern image according to an intermediate pixel component of a line of the image and performs color interpolation of the image.
