An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent a main sealant pattern form being coagulated or disconnected, by forming a starting point and an ending point for sealant dispensing in a periphery of the main sealant pattern. A lower substrate(10) and an upper substrate(30) are prepared. A sealant is dispensed on one of the substrates by using a dispenser. Liquid crystal(50) is dropped on one of the substrates. The two substrates are bonded to each other. The dispensing of the sealant is performed by dispensing a first dummy sealant(72) in a periphery of a main sealant pattern(74), forming the main sealant pattern after dispensing the first dummy sealant, and dispensing a second dummy sealant(76) in the periphery of the main sealant pattern after forming the main sealant pattern.
