An apparatus and a method for installing a sun roof of a vehicle is provided to shorten process time by automatically performing a sun roof module bolt mounting process using an auto-nut runner and an assist valence. An auto-nut runner tool device(1) enables control of torque input, adjustment of an index speed and control of a fixed position. Nut runner control is programmed to execute control suitable for conditions of an assembly line. An assist valence arm(4) allows a main body to easily move up and down and a transfer device(light rail) is installed to enable movement in left/right/front/rear directions. A nut runner tool guide(1) is installed to provide the accuracy of a central position of a bolt assembly of a sun roof module. A bolt is manually mounted in a magnet socket(2) such that the bolt is prevented from being separated from the magnet socket(2).
