A method and a system for providing an information search service by using color identification are provided to offer emotional information related to color by listing the statistical emotional information corresponding to color information recognized in a mobile terminal and searching/outputting the categorized information if the emotional information is selected among the list information. The mobile terminal(110) lists the statistical emotional information corresponding to the color by receiving the color through an image input part or a character input part. A service server(160) forms a menu arranged to each category by searching the emotional information related to the emotion received from the mobile terminal and provides the menu to the mobile terminal through the mobile network(120). A database(170) stores the categorized information and provides the emotional information if a request is received from the service server. The mobile terminal stores and lists color-matched emotional information corresponding to each color.
