EXTRACT FROM CROTALARIA SESSIFLORA L., FUNCTIONAL FOOD OR COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTING OR TREATING GARSTRIC CANCER AND LARGE INTESTINE CANCER CONTAINING THE SAME

Provided is a functional food containing Crotalaria sessiflora extract which exhibits elevated anti-cancer activity and immunopotentiating activity in vitro and in vivo systems and the functional food containing the Crotalaria sessiflora extract is effective in prevention and treatment of large intestinal cancer. The functional food contains 30 to 100mg/kg of Crotalaria sessiflora extract. The Crotalaria sessiflora extract is prepared by adding a mixed solvent containing a halogenated hydrocarbon based organic solvent and C1-4 alcohol in a weight ratio of 2:1 to 9:1 to the leaf and stem of Crotalaria sessiflora, leaving at room temperature for 3 to 5 days, repeatedly extracting 2 to 3 times and purifying by a recrystallization method. The alcohol is preferably methanol or ethanol. The mixed solvent contains methylene chloride and ethanol in a weight ratio of 2:1 to 9:1. The recrystallization method is performed in any one solvent condition selected from the group consisting of methylene chloride/hexane, chloroform/hexane, methylene chloride/methanol and chloroform/methanol.
