An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent lights transmitting through neighboring pixels from being mixed, by forming color filters in a convex lens type so that the lights transmitting through each pixel are condensed to a center portion of each unit pixel. Intaglio patterns are formed in an insulating substrate(201). Red, green, and blue color filters(205a,205b,205c) are respectively formed in the intaglio patterns. A black matrix(207) is formed in a matrix type on the insulating substrate. A light refracting lens(203) is formed in each of the intaglio patterns. The light refracting lens is positioned between the bottom portion of the intaglio patterns and the color filter. The light refracting lens is a convex lens.
