A digital broadcasting receiving apparatus includes an FFT unit 4 for analyzing a spectrum of a received signal; a spectrum distribution analyzing unit 15 for analyzing a distribution profile of the spectrum of the received signal output from the FFT unit 4; and a tuning search control unit 12 for carrying out tuning by making a decision as to whether the signal during receiving is a digital broadcasting signal or not in response to the output of the spectrum distribution analyzing unit.
