A plasma display panel is provided to absorb external light and improve contrast by using a metal electrode. A first substrate(111) and a second substrate(121) are opposite to each other. A plurality of barrier ribs(130) are disposed between the first and the second substrates in order to form a plurality of discharge cells(170R,170G,170B). Pairs of sustain electrodes(131,132) include transparent electrodes(131a,132a) and metallic bus electrodes(131b,132b). The bus electrodes are formed with dark components for absorbing the light and light components for reflecting the light. A plurality of address electrodes(122) are disposed across the pairs of sustain electrodes. A first dielectric layer(115) is formed to cover the pairs of sustain electrodes. A second dielectric layer(125) is formed to cover the address electrodes. A phosphor layer is formed within each of the discharge cells. A reflector(180) is arranged at the first dielectric layer in order to reflect the light generated from the discharge cells.
