The paging transceiver (100) receives the pag e and alerts the user that information is waiting and provides an identifier for the information. The user can then download or otherwise a ct on the information at a time and at a place convenient to the user. The paging transceiver (100) allows a user to erase information stored at the paging transceiver (100) and corresponding information stored at a remote system (30).
