Novel compounds of Formula I wherein X is H, an equivalent of a not toxic cation or a non toxic esterifying group and R is H or alkanoyl, and non toxic acid addition salts thereof, are prepared by reduction of 4-cyanooubane-1-oarboxylic acid optionally followed by acylation, esterification and/or salt formation. 4 - Cyanocubane - 1 - carboxylic acid is prepared by hydrolysis of the methyl ester which is prepared by dehydration of methyl 4-carboxamidocubane-1-carboxylate obtained by action of ammonia and ethyl chloroformate on 1- methoxycarbonyl-4-carboxycubane obtained by partial hydrolysis of dimethyl cubane-1,4- dicarboxylate. Pharmaceutical compositions in conventional forms for oral or parenteral administration and useful in the prevention or treatment of pathological fibrinolytic states comprise an above novel compound and a carrier therefor. |
