An image forming apparatus is provided to prevent paper from slipping out through a gap between an image forming unit and an image reading unit and prevent paper jam. An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit(10), an image reading unit(20), and a guide plate(30). The image forming unit includes a paper-discharging part(11). The image reading unit is vertically rotatable with respect to the image forming unit. The guide plate prevents paper discharged to the paper-discharging part from slipping out through a gap between the sides of the image forming unit and the image reading unit when the image reading unit is rotated upward. The guide plate blocks the gap between the image forming unit and the image reading unit.
