An apparatus and a method for displaying images are provided to improve display quality by correcting a deflection angle of a scan beam. A display apparatus includes a temperature sensor(130), a deflection driver(40), a microcomputer(135), a vertical waveform output unit(145), a horizontal waveform output unit(155), a deflector(120), and a display panel(105). The temperature sensor senses external temperature and outputs a sensor voltage corresponding to the external temperature. The deflection driver receives a horizontal synchronization signal and a vertical synchronization signal and generates a horizontal waveform signal and a vertical waveform signal. The microcomputer receives the sensor voltage from the temperature sensor and controls the voltage of the deflection driver according to the sensor voltage to correct the horizontal waveform signal and the vertical waveform signal according to the external temperature. The vertical waveform output unit receives and amplifies the vertical waveform signal. The horizontal waveform output unit receives and amplifies the horizontal waveform signal. The defector receives the amplified vertical waveform signal and the amplified horizontal waveform signal and controls a deflection angle of an electron beam. The display panel receives the electron beam through the defector and displays an image.
