A system and a method for managing multimedia disks in a ubiquitous environment are provided to enable a home as well as a shop to easily manage multimedia disk management information in the ubiquitous environment by using an RFID tag inserted into each multimedia disk such as a CD(Compact Disk) and a DVD(Digital Versatile Disk). The RFID tag is inserted into various kinds of disks and includes an application ID. An RFID reader/writer(210) includes an application program for reading the application ID by receiving a signal from the RFID tag. A computer(200) searches, stores, confirms, and manages the information received from the RFID reader/writer by connecting to the RFID reader/writer. An external device provides a user interface by connecting to the computer. The external device is a terminal for searching a disk item, a display position and a stock state of the disk item, and calculating a price of the disk item, or an RFID player playing the disk and transmitting playback information. |
