Provided is a photoconductor for image forming apparatus and process catridge, which shows good wear resistance compatible with excellent electrostatic properties for a long period of time. The photoconductor comprises a surface layer(13) on a conductive support(11), wherein the surface layer is formed by photocuring a radical polymerizable monomer having a charge transport structure and a radical polymerizable monomer having no charge transport structure. When light having a wavelength higher than the absorption band wavelength in the light absorption spectrum of the surface layer before the photocuring by 25 nm is transmitted through the surface layer, the light transmission is 65% or higher.
