<p>A manufacturing method for wound, cylindrical or oval objects, e.g. pipes or vessels, consists of: pulling pre-dried and flattened filaments through a resin wetting unit, removing excess resin, then passing the bands of filaments through vertically movable pairs of grooved rollers and a pivoting final pair of guide rollers and winding the bands of filaments onto a revolving mandrel. The filaments may be passed through additional vacuum vessels just before being applied to the mandrel, mutual adjustment of roller distances and angles being used to vary the angle of wind and the amount of overlap between adjacent bands of filaments. The objective of the system is to avoid inclusions of air and excessive squeezing-out of resin.</p> |
