An entrance controlling method in a mobile communication terminal performing a video call and a device thereof are provided to enable the terminal to recognize facial information of the other party who is performing video conversation and to send the recognized facial information to an entrance opening/closing device, thereby controlling an entrance. A video call image is received from a mobile communication terminal of the other party who is performing a video call(410). The other party's facial information is recognized from the video call image(420,430). The recognized facial information of the other party is transmitted to a predetermined entrance opening/closing device(440). The device compares the received facial information of the other party with a registered user's facial information, and then opens or closes an entrance according to the results.
