An IP(Internet Protocol)-based home network service system, a path control system thereof, and a method therefor are provided to perceive service classification items corresponding to user circumstance information, and to offer home network service paths matched with the perceived items, thereby easily supplying a new home network service even without changing or upgrading a set top box. A web interface(41) provides an Internet interface with a set top box. A message collector(44) collects user circumstance information which contains device authentication information received from the set top box. An information filter unit(45) filters information necessary for deciding user circumstances from the collected information, and selects service classification items. A query condition generator(46) generates indexes by combining the filtered service classification items. A path query generator(47) generates and inquires of DB query sentences with the generated indexes, and perceives service paths to particular service servers matched with the indexes. A path branch unit(48) delivers the perceived service path(URL:Uniform Resource Locator) to the set top box. A DB(49) stores each service path of each service server and the indexes matched with the paths as service path URL tables.
