A method and an apparatus for inputting keys in an electronic device having a camera module and a wheel key are provided to recognize a key by a position of an input point of a wheel key by analyzing an image of the wheel key captured by a camera module according to an inputted key input command. An image analyzing module(170) analyzes an image of a wheel key captured by a camera module(120) according to manipulation of an input module(160), and recognizes a key according to a position of an input point provided at the wheel key. A key value recognizing module(175) recognizes a key value corresponding to the key recognized by the image analyzing module.
