IN-PLANE SWITCHING MODE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND METHOD FOR REPAIRING THE SAME

An IPS(In Plane Switching) mode LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a repairing method thereof are provided to prevent recognition of a defect in a normal image, by associatively driving a defect pixel and a non-defect pixel and thus visually masking the defect. Gate lines(110) and data lines(120) are crossly formed on a transparent insulating substrate vertically and horizontally and define plural pixels. A TFT(Thin Film Transistor) includes a gate electrode extended from the gate line. The gate electrodes are arranged at the crossing portions of the gate lines and the data lines. A semiconductor layer is formed on the gate electrode. A source electrode(121) is branched from the data line. A drain electrode(122) is oppositely located to the source electrode by interposing the semiconductor layer. Pixel electrodes(140) are connected to the drain electrode. Common electrodes(131) are arranged alternately to the pixel electrodes. Common lines connect the common electrodes. An overlap area of both ends of a repair pattern(150) with an island shape is overlapped with two adjacent pixel electrodes.
