A slot ID allocation method between a BTS(Base Transceiver System) and a remote unit is provided to process slot IDs allocation of slave boards on remote units connected to the BTS, through a master remote unit, thus a load of a BTS control board which has to perform a lot of tasks relatively can be reduced. Plural remote boards connected with a BTS of a mobile communication system are connected in daisy chain type, and the remote boards are initialized(S50). The remote boards transmit slot ID request messages to the BTS(S52). The BTS transmits a slot ID table and a master mode message to the remote boards, and the remote boards interface with lower remote boards(S54-S58). If a message that demands slot IDs is received in another lower remote board, the slot IDs are allocated and provided to the lower remote boards if another lower remote board is in master mode(S60-S66).
