Large crystalline particles of escitalopram oxalate that have a median particle size of at least 40 microns

Crystalline particles of escitalopram oxalate, which is the S-enantiomer of the well-know antidepressant drug citalopram, i.e. (S)-1- [3- (dimethylamino) propyl]-1- (4fluorophenyl)-1,3-dihydro-5-isobenzofurancarbonitrile oxalate with a particle size of at least 40 µm are disclosed. A method for the manufacture of the crystalline particles and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the crystalline particles are also disclosed.
