PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient waste ink processing in an ink-jet recording apparatus for forming images by discharging reactive ink and pigment ink onto a recording material, thereby realizing a highly reliable ink-jet recording apparatus in which a discharge outlet of waste ink is not blocked. SOLUTION: When a recording material container is to be inserted/pulled out so that a user replenishes recording materials, in association with movement of the recording material container, a belt tensed around rollers disposed in a waste ink container is driven. As a result, waste ink introduced onto the belt is carried into an end of the waste ink container. Then, the waste ink is removed by an ink scraping portion disposed in the waste ink container, and the waste ink is stored in the space in the waste ink container. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
