PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a constitution capable of surely separating paper sheets even in a state that double feed caused by burrs and bite-in at the tip of a paper sheet and the attraction of the paper sheets to each other by static electricity easily occurs in a paper feeding device for feeding the stacked paper sheets to a succeeding process by taking only one sheet from the top of the stacked paper sheets by using an inclined surface. SOLUTION: When starting paper feeding, the top-positioned paper sheet is vibrated forward and backward in the paper sheet conveying direction in relation to the following paper sheet so as to separate the paper sheets adhered to each other by burrs and bite-in, and thereafter, paper feeding operation is started.
