The system has a stop light (10) and a controller, which switches on and disconnects an illumination unit to indicate the status of the system. The controller triggers the signal illumination unit and modulates the signal of the illumination unit based on a code to transmit the coded light signals independent of the indicated system condition. The signals carry additional information according to the code, where the signals are modulated according to another code. An independent claim is also included for a signal receiver for a light signal system.
