A solvent-based mixt. for chromatographic analyses is applied to the centre of a circular disc (4) of adsorbent material resting on a support plate (15) in a rotor (3) driven by a central shaft (10) within an enclosed chamber. Centrifugal material is intercepted by the inner wall of a collector ring (5) round the support plate and rotated by the same shaft. The inner wall of the collector ring is inclined, and each point on its inner wall is farther from the rotation axis (14) than the most distant point of the adsorbent disc. At two or more (even numbered) points in the slightly irregular collector ring, at max. radial distance from the centre, are discharge bores (6) taking solvent towards an axial outlet, e.g. for re-use.
