PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the position-retrieving system of a portable telephone, a position retrieving method, and to provide a position-retrieving program, wherein the present position of an individual involved in crime or an object can be retrieved. SOLUTION: The portable telephone ascertains own present position, when an indication that its position must be located, is given by an operation unit 13, it receives an incoming call from a specific telephone number, or it moves out of a previously set area. At this time, a storage timing monitoring unit 17 transmits storage timing signals to a control unit 5. The control unit 5 reads out information about the intensity of an electric field measured by an electric field intensity measuring unit 16, through signals sent from the storage timing monitoring unit 17 and stores it in a memory unit 14. The control unit 5 transmits information, concerning the intensity of an electric field and stored in the memory unit 14, to a base station via an antenna 1.
