PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a solid electrolytic capacitor that reduces leakage current defects of the surface-mounted solid electrolytic capacitor, by repairing defects during the manufacture of the solid electrolytic capacitor, and removing defectives. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for the solid electrolytic capacitor includes the steps of forming an anode body of metal having a valve operation, forming a dielectric film at least in a portion of its surface through a conversion treatment, forming a conductive polymer layer and a conductive paste layer as a cathode body, in this order, and sealing the capacitor element obtained with resin.
