<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition to be used in a method comprising the steps mentioned below for treating nerve damage or reproducing neurocytes. <P>SOLUTION: The composition to be used in the method for treating nerve damage is provided, wherein the method comprises the step of transporting a gene encoding an acidic fibroblast growth factor(aFGF) to nerve-affected site(s) or neurocytes and the step of expressing the gene in the nerve-damaged site(s) or the neurocytes.
